Making Pictures

Sorry for the radio silence on the blog front this week I've had a really busy week and I'm starting to get to the edge of my tether with certain aspects of my life. I had a proper chilled out Bank Holiday weekend and I feel much better. Here is the product of camera left with me and Jay...(does that even make sense)

Stephanie Burgess

This collection of images was taken by Stephanie Burgess for her final year photography project, as part of a set of portraits involving various alternative models. I originally thought the images were too unstyled but I do like the simplicity of them and they are very different from anything else in my portfolio. I don't know why but it makes me feel a bit nervous being involved in shoots where I can't pick my own clothes, I feel like a bit of my personality is taken away from the shoot. I was impressed with the end result all the same, perhaps more because I wasn't expecting to be. I had trouble picking which ones to post because there was so many good ones.

The Girl in the top photo with me is model Xiayah. I met her on the day of the shoot and she's a top girl!
I think the last one might be my favourite, I don't think I've used an image of my back before.

Sheryl B. Macaraeg

These picture are from a few weeks ago. My friend at work Sheryl kindly asked me to model her final collection. We found this amazing location right near my house in Poynton where there was a broken piano   propped up against a tree, it couldn't have suited the clothes better. Miss Yvonne Lo took the photographs and even though she is not a professional I think she did a pretty good job. These edits are by me.

Toria Brightside

Last weekend me and Jay made the trip to up Leeds to be photographed by Toria Brightside for her book Promiscuous. I was already pretty excited because I've seen plenty of her pictures before being a good friend of Jay's and they certainly stand out from any other photographer I've met before.

I actually ended up being in not one but three shoots that weekend, one for Toria's book, one for Violaceous latex which was kindly lent by annabelle for the shoot and one on Sunday which was also for the book. All were completely different particularly the last one which was shot in a gorgeous Edwardian House.

I can't decide which picture I love best but  I definitely need to get some printed for the flat walls <3.

Me and Jay had a top weekend. I love meeting creative people who get excited about projects it makes me feel inspired again.

SugarMilk

I Absolutely adore these drawings from artist and designer Pandisaea Decora. She has such talent and a unique style to go with it. I've been thinking a lot recently about how much I'd like to start drawing again but I'm terrified of not being able to draw the things in my head. I know it's ridiculous because you don't get better at something without lots of practice. Personally fashion illustrations and the human figure are one of the most beautiful things to recreate, it's also very difficult as proportions are a nightmare to get right. This lady has clearly got it down to perfection!
